XD2Joy is a dongle with open sourced firmware that's more capable than most third-party Joy-Con 2s in functionality.

Beta sign ups !

Want it early? Reserve a spot in the beta program. Beta testers get a prototype board to test before launch, and the first chance to buy. Only a small batch is being made. FYI, you don't need to buy a dongle to try out the firmware or functionality. you can always buy 2 nRF52840 dev boards and make a DIY setup. The XD2Joy Dongle is made only for convenience.

How it works

The board ONLY WORKS WITH BLUETOOTH DEVICES. it does not support 2.4G dongles.

Plug it in
XD2Joy runs on USB power, as long as the firmware is on the dongle, it can be in any USB port in range and still work.
Pairing your keyboard and mouse
Pair them using the Web-tool and once linked the board should convert your keyboard and mouse into a Joy-con.
Connecting to the console.
In Change Grip/Order make sure the devices are being read in the Web-Tool if so then the console should recognize them. (Might need to get the console closer to the board cause the range is limited In pair mode)

Everything is compiled to the dongle, so your settings are always with you.

Real mouse mode

Thumbstick mode can only be so precise. Mouse moves the cursor in games that support Joy-Con 2 mouse mode.

Keyboard mode support

Well if im already using a keyboard why not actually use it for typing?

Remap keys and buttons

Most third party Joy-Cons dont let you crossmap buttons. With this you can still connect a single keyboard and still control the left and right Joy-Cons.

Profiles

Save custom profile keybinds for games and swap between them, 4 is the default max.

Configure in browser

I hate installing apps so its hosted on github with the source code available.

FAQ

When will this release?

Depending on interest id love to be able to produce more dongles for testing, but it can be expensive. Im just in my basement, working on this. I cant assume everyone wants this niche. Currently trying to rework the prototype dongle and will order about 20. Most Going to beta testers or possibly reviewers if they are interested.

Which keyboards and mice work?

I cant test all brands and devices, but it should work with most Bluetooth keyboards and mice. If there is any issues its always open sourced !

Do I need a computer?

Not really, if you get a USB to USB-C adapter to connect a phone in chrome the dongle should get detected in the webtool via WebUSB for mapping and configuration etc. But its a lot more easier to configure on a computer. and I don't sell adapters.

Would nintendo care?

like 60$ probably.

how can I stay up to date ?

I made a reddit r/XD2Joy. check it out! I would make a discord server, but its too much effort. if you dont use the platform signing up for updates here is fine too.
